Personality Quirks

Posted on January 4, 2007January 4, 2007 by marcus

While driving to meet my wife for dinner this evening, I passed a daycare center with a marquee that made me chuckle to myself. The sign read “Experienced infant teacher wanted.” Now, to many of you this might not be very funny, but I have long since realized that I view the world somewhat differently than everyone else. When presented with words and phrases such as the one I encountered tonight, I tend to examine their every possible meaning. This is usually subconscious and nearly instantaneous. I don’t sit and try to think up alternate meanings for things, my brain just works it out on its own. While the text and the context would indicate to most people that the school was looking for a someone experienced at teaching infants, I was immediately asking myself “How much teaching experience could an infant possibly have?”

I’ll have you know that was the first thing I thought of when I read the phrase. 😛 I laughed out loud. (lol) for those in the know.
