Last week Laura and I went for our first prenatal doctorâ€™s exam. The one were you actually meet the doctor (or midwife in our case) who will be helping manage the pregnancy. It was relatively uneventful as such things go, with Lâ€™s mom being a midwife herself, there wasnâ€™t any new information presented. After the appointment, we had lunch at a Chinese restaurant. The meal wasnâ€™t anything spectacular, but when we got our fortune cookies, Lauraâ€™s had one of the most accurate fortunes I have ever seen, it read:
Childrenâ€™s laughter, so beautiful to hear,
soon will be a chance to have them very near.
We were amazed that this said what it did considering where we had just been. I know that this is probably just a coincidence. When examined rationally, the possible interpretations are innumerable. While it is certainly nothing more than a coincidence, its things like this that keep the idea of an unseen force shaping destinies alive,
