I’m sure there’s a perfectly logical explanation for my parcel making a quick visit to Memphis this morning, though I can’t for the life of me think of one.

Having worked on the conveyor belt for UPS and can assure you that it was routed back to Mamphis because of one person’s lack of attention to detail while pulling packages off of the belt and sorting them into the correct trucks. At UPS anything left on the belt is typically delayed for the next sort. Since FedEx’s main sorting facility is in Memphis, it’s likely that this is all that happened here too.
